Helping people with spinal cord injuries live actively

Who We Are

Our History

The Push On Foundation was founded by Ben Kunzle, Giuliana Kunzle, Cristina Gonzalez, and Alex Kafure, driven by a shared commitment to empowering individuals with spinal cord injuries to lead more active and fulfilling lives. What began as an idea rooted in passion for inclusivity and adaptive sports has evolved into a thriving community dedicated to breaking barriers and expanding opportunities.

From its inception, the foundation has provided free workout clinics for individuals in wheelchairs, sponsored para-athletes, and organized inclusive group activities such as run clubs, aquatic adventures, and adaptive fitness programs. In recent years, we have expanded our reach with para jiujitsu events, fostering a competitive yet supportive environment for adaptive athletes. Additionally, we launched Push On Developmental Training, a program designed to help adaptive athletes refine their skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Through equipment, training, mentorship, and community-driven initiatives, the Push On Foundation empowers spinal cord injury survivors and adaptive athletes to thrive physically, socially, and competitively. Today, we continue to push boundaries, redefine possibilities, and inspire resilience in every aspect of life.

Our mission

Our mission is to empower individuals with spinal cord injuries by providing resources, training, and opportunities that promote inclusivity, accessibility, and athletic development. Through sports, fitness, and community-building initiatives, we aim to break down barriers and create a culture of empowerment and achievement.

Our values

  • Inclusivity – We create welcoming spaces where everyone, regardless of ability, feels valued and supported.

  • Resilience – We celebrate the strength and determination of adaptive athletes, encouraging them to push forward in the face of adversity.

  • Community – We foster connections between individuals of all abilities, creating a network of support and shared experiences.

  • Innovation – We embrace creativity and forward-thinking solutions to improve accessibility and enhance the quality of life for those we serve.
